Yahoo on Thursday is expected to roll out a new version of Yahoo Mail, the world's largest Web e-mail service.

Some of the service's new features include improved integration with online calendar, message preview and integrated RSS reader. Like the old version, the updated Yahoo Mail is free of charge.

The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company introduced the new service to a select number of users in countries, such as the United States, Brazil, China and India.

Yahoo is using the technology it obtained after acquiring Oddpost in July 2004. This is the most sweeping upgrade of Yahoo Mail since the service's launch in 1997.
