The activity of Sirius Computer Consultants Ltd. Company, or, to be exact, its organization department Jpowered.com, mostly concerns developing and applying of Java based web applications. The company’s products are known for their low price and pretty high quality. Let’s take a look at their new product – Advanced Graph &Chart Collection.
It is known, that for the information to be perceived most quickly, it should be represented through simple images – graphs or charts – the fact that web authors and Java developers know well and broadly use in their practice. So, the main goal of Advanced Graph &Chart Collection is to make as simple as possible the process of graphical data preparation and implementation in the Internet/Intranet networks. The collection contains web applications that let you generate graphical reports of different kind: from linear graphs up to tree-dimensional charts, including the option of dynamic data presentation. The most significant feature of these web components is the possibility to use a great variety of different input data sources, i.e. you may use as input data such data sources as Databases, Scripts and server Side processes (e.g. Servlets, JSP, ASP, PHP, PERL), or the data may be imported directly from HTML files. The resulting charts also provide a great variety of settings, such as Trend Lines, Automatic Legend Generation and many others, which web developers would probably appreciate at their true value. There are two kinds of web components presented in the collection: applets and servlets. As you know, applets are processed directly on client’s computer by the browser, and servlets are processed on the server, which lets you avoid the ambiguity of final result presentation (possible due to different browser versions capabilities), since the application executed on the server sends the result to the client’s computer as a graphical file in png format. The thorough information about which web component (server or client based) is most suitable in each case is given in the Documentation part. The developers gave various examples of web components implementation, which radically reduce the time required to find and choose a proper graphical data presentation method. Additional examples are also available directly from the company’s web site, which lets you check the result of servlets execution with no special server software installed on your computer. On the whole, Advanced Graph &Chart Collection provides rich resources for graphical data presentation, which may appear useful in such spheres as economics, sociology and many others, where visual presentation of numerical data is needed.
