I checked out Namco's Pac-Man World Rally for Gamecube. Ever since Mario Kart made its debut on the Super Nintendo, I've always enjoyed these games. There's nothing like holding a deadly powerup for two laps, trailing just a few feet behind the person you're racing against, only to unleash your fury right before the finish line. This game seemed a little faster than usual, which was good because it made the racing more exciting

The best thing about this genre is the opportunity to race as some of my favorite characters. Mario, Princess, and Bowser are classics. Crash Bandicoot had a brief stint in the racing circuit. When I unlocked Rob the Robot on Mario Kart DS, I thought nothing could top it. However, as usual when it comes to making "nothing can top this" claims, I was wrong. The Prince of All Cosmos, hero to millions for his star-making ability in the Katamari Damacy series, is available as an unlockable character. Namco was cool enough to put together a special E3 cup for us, and The Prince was already unlocked. He rides around on a small platform supported by 4 Katamari balls, and seems to be the light and fast character in the group. I only wish the wheels got progressively bigger, so that you could eventually drive over all the other racers on the course. Katamari Kart, anyone?

Katamari fans, don't miss out on this opportunity to race as one of the newest, and best characters in video game history!
