Those of us who like to work smarter, not harder, will appreciate the time and work-saving capabilities of xStarter. Designed to automate routine work with a PC, xStarter will perform sequences of tasks that would otherwise have been accomplished in separate steps. For instance, the boss needs to receive the previous day's inventory reports by 9:00 am the following day. One has to start the spreadsheet program, select the file, ZIP the file, close the program, start the e-mail manager, attach the file, dial up the Internet, send the e-mail, disconnect and close. xStarter will use a sophisticated scheduler to compile these tasks into one sequentially-executed function, all run from a single keystroke.
A huge variety of routine operations can be managed by xStarter. Internet connections, file management and maintenance functions, network communications and monitoring, program startup and termination, NT services and others. A sequence can even be triggered by a system error or printer malfunction, and xStarter will set in motion the necessary notification of IT personnel.
Even when you can't be in your office, xStarter's e-mail trigger can monitor your mail for specific text in the subject window or body and send an alert or a specified response, so important mail won't go unanswered. If you need to keep track of changes on your system that others may make while you are away, like the movement or deletion of files, xStarter's file monitoring triggers can be configured to send alerts, copy files to backup, and on and on. Having xStarter do the detail work is like having a secretary who never asks to be paid.
