How, how, how… So many questions appear on our way every day. And “how” again. How to answer them? Scratch the surface and find the essence.
The gist of the existence
Human mental core is prone to be in order. However that may be. We always try to bring our environment to conformity with internal logical architecture of our way of thinking. So our aspiration to put everything on its place shows its worth in human artificialities. For example, there is one more program: excellent script editor XLnow OnScript. It does its work more than good. It seems to be that OnScript can put in order not only anything about script editing on your PC or network but you properly if you gape inadvertently.
XLnow OnScript
Do you have whatever skills in script writing? If you have not you’ll get it. Why? Because using OnScript it is quite easy both to work professionally and learn how to work professionally. This is powerful, well-designed, flexible and comprehensive software. It contains detailed help file so there is no problem to learn how use it, especially if you have some special knowledge in script writing.
Dancing letters
Usually common user staring on the script code feels dizzy. And how! A multitude of marks and symbols never leave in peace those who have no idea how to deal with it. Lines and rows, commas and colons, constants and variables, dashes and slashes, dots and marks are dancing before eyes. I suppose that only rather skilled and experienced programmer can read rapidly the plane code as it is. Moreover it is far easier to catch the main idea and understand the code structure if it is paragraphed with various colors and gaps. OnScript actually highlights symbols by color and font according to special groups. I think there is no need to prove it is comfortable.
So come to the point
As for OnScript I would like to emphasize some remarkable features. First of all the program contains embedded editors on various engines, installed on your system. My list was something like that:
BatFile
CmdFile
HTAFile
JScript
JScriptEncode
OnScript Host
TextFile
VBScript
VBSScript Encode
WS Component
WSH File
XML
Using OnScript everyone can easily create, edit, run and test scripts on any from above-mentioned base. As you see this powerful editor created for Microsoft Windows supports editing of the most commonly used scripting languages. The program contains its own Scripting Host and supports different Scripting Hosts. Note, that OnScript includes the latest version of Microsoft Windows Script Host (WSH) 5.6.
Easy-going interface
OnScript possesses well thought-out interface. Working area can be divided into several windows according to user’s taste but by default there are four windows. Everything of them are comfortably spread by the groups over the main window and user can easily see everything he able to do.
The Workspace window
The first window is the Workspace window. It is considered to present all resources available for the current workspace. There are four tabs: Scripts, Library, Objects and Helps.
The Script tab is designed to display and manage the scripts available on the local PC or in your network. The Library tab displays script folders on local and network drives. To browse for software objects installed on the PC to enrich your scripts, use the Objects tab. The Helps tab, as you understand, helps you to get some help. I think you got he core in spite of the pun.
The Command window
The Command window describes the status of currently executing script. It shows outputs and error messages if they occur. Also there is the function of immediate typing and running of the commands on the language of the active script.
The Command window consists of Output and Immediate tabs. The Output tab displays output or debugging messages and the Immediate tab allows the executing a command or to change or check the variable values of the script at run-time.
The Properties Windows
The Properties window is design to display properties and descriptions of the selected items of current workspace. This window is context-sensitive: clicking another element of the workspace environment changes the content automatically in relation to properties of the current item. The properties window contains computer, file, library, object and help properties information.
The Script Edit Window
The central focus of the workspace occupies the Script edit window. It allows viewing and editing script documents with script coloring and debugging. It is possible to create a new file or open existing one.
In general, do not hesitate to ask the Help file, because you can find there any explanation of any function and way to act.
So write right scripts using XLnow OnScript!
