Submission programs usage statistic
September 21, 2004 Rudenko Software company acknowledged defeat of its submission tool Robosoft from its rapidly developing competitor Promosoft. Recently Robosoft considered to be the leader of the submission software market, but as the independent research has shown, now it no longer the case.

Onekit.com Software Magazine has started the unprecedented research for collecting statistics on different software submitter usage. (The software submitter is a tool that adds program products to mass media sources and listing sites to promote the programs.) All the companies except Rudenko Software agreed to cooperate with the research. The chief of Rudenko Software company has pointed out that such a research is illegal and that it disagrees with the Privacy Policy of Robosoft. Though in fact all a submitting tool had to do was introduce itself so that Onekit.com can recognize what kind of program a developer used to advertise his software.

Mykola Rudenko not only refused to cooperate with the research, but removed Onekit.com site from his sites-to-submit list as well, having treated the research as an insult. So Mykola Rudenko turned to be a man out of business just because he let his emotions control him. And because of his ambitions he decided to break all the relations with one of the chain links of mass media.
Nevertheless, the research campaign has been carried out and the percent ratio of different submitter usage has been estimated. The results clearly proved that Robosoft is no longer the leader of the submitting tool list. Such a research had never been conducted before, so it has dogmatically been taken on trust that Robosoft is the leader of the submission industry.

The research results show that most developers submit their programs with the help of Promosoft submitting tool. The second place was taken by manual submission without using any program tools. And the third place occupied Shareware Tracker.

46.6% - Promosoft
30.5% - Manual Submission (+ Robosoft)
22.9% - Shareware Tracker

Now, how can we determine what part of the developers use Robosoft?

We know that Robosoft doesn’t introduce itself and program submitting through it is recognized as regular manual submission. So, in the research it is registered among the manual submission results. And no matter how large is the share of Robosoft in the total number of manual submission, anyway Robosoft has given up and occupies no higher than second or third (or even fourth) place in the submitting tool list.

Recently Promosoft has been broadly talked over at the forum. Participants of the discussion were throwing sidelong glances at Promosoft, because it is an automatic submitter, not semi-automatic as Robosoft. Developers refused to believe that software submitting among program listings and other mass media sources can be so easy and fast and effective. The doubt that developers experienced was caused by the fact that we don’t get the response that server gives during submission and so we cannot be absolutely sure if the program product has been really added. But Promosoft has removed all doubts and made developers trust automatic submitters. Promosoft provides intelligent error and situation analysis system, thorough hint system, and it helps you not waste your valuable time on semi-automatic submission, but just press a button instead and wait for the result. And at the same time the submission keeps to be as high-quality as with Robosoft.

The appearing of Promosoft resulted in burst interest of the developers to the new revolutionary way of software submission. Even the very first versions of Promosoft overcome Robosoft in speed, and the further versions has totally beaten Robosoft in program submission rate. Previously a developer had to pay from three days up to a week to carry out the promotion campaign at high level, but now with Promosoft it’ll take him just one night and his program will appear in most popular mass media sources. Promosoft overcomes Robosoft almost in all aspects and rushes ahead into first place with tremendous advantage over its competitor.

This article is not just my private opinion. It contains the attitudes of the developers that distributed their software in the Internet with the help of both Robosoft and Promosoft. So above written is a joint picture of different opinions.
As to the research and statistics collecting, to make the results more precise we suggest any other program archive may carry out such a research.

Unfortunately, Rudenko Software with Robosoft tool couldn’t have left the software submission arena with dignity, but instead lowered to the level of humiliating relations and baseless payback.
