TweakWindow 1.2 is a software title that falls into a broad range of applications known as window enhancement utilities. But unlike its countless peers, TweakWindow offers a unique combination of features that no other application in this class has. In addition to now standard features like one-click minimization to the system tray, transparency tweaking, hiding a window or making it topmost, TweakWindow offers two innovative features – chameleon windows and ghost windows.
The chameleon window feature allows a user to change the window title and/or icon to mask it as another application. This option is great for any users who do not want others to know what applications they have currently running. This is also a good way to fool performance tracking programs that log all windows open. Window ghosting is a feature that makes a window topmost and semi-transparent (users can adjust the transparency level themselves). All clicks will go through that window to the one located beneath, but the ghost window can still be closed, minimized, maximized and resized. Only ghost window title bar reacts to mouse clicks. The third feature known as window rolling, while not new, adds an extra degree of convenience to the program. Window rolling allows users to roll the window up or down, leaving only the window title bar visible. MS Windows system enhancement: Moving a window by clicking and holding not its title bar, but any place on the window. Enhancing the "Move pointer to the default button in dialog boxes" system feature. All window manipulations can be done through extra buttons added to windows, window menu or a combination of hotkeys. Related Links:
