Microsoft will offer a Windows Live installer that will download and install software that will allow access to multiple online services, according to the president of the software company's platform and services division.

During his presentation to financial analysts on Thursday, Kevin Johnson said the company would begin beta testing the product this summer.

Johnson described it as a single download that will let users connect to multiple Live-branded hosted services, such as email and messaging. Users will be able to access these services from different devices, including PCs and phones.

"This unified installation experience is one example of the more integrated experience we'll deliver with the next generation of Windows Live services," Johnson said.

Microsoft started beta testing two products in June that are part of what will be the Windows Live suite: Windows Live Photo Gallery — which lets people organise and share photos on a PC and online — and Windows Live Folders, an online storage service.

Johnson added that integration of Microsoft's Live services is a key selling point for the company.
