MicroOLAP Technologies Company (http://www.microolap.com), a leading provider of database tools, native connectivity components and drivers for database servers, announces the 1.4 version release of the microOLAP DBACentral for MySQL, the new generation GUI front-end tool for the most popular open-source database server in the world.

DBACentral for MySQL is a GUI solution for database administration and data management, which provides you with Microsoft Access like interface paradigm for executing all database operations over database structure and table data.

DBACentral for MySQL v1.4 introduces a new major feature, which is absolutely unique within MySQL admin tools: generation and WYSIWYG design of PHP based web pages for viewing and editing MySQL data.

This feature includes:

- auto-creating pages from tables, views, and stored GUI forms;
- a comprehensive wizard for quick generation of web grids and forms;
- several pre-defined style sheet templates for better page
appearance;
- a WYSIWYG page designer for editing page texts and working with page
tables, input controls, images, etc;
- an ability to display images stored as BLOBs within the result
pages;
- an ability to edit HTML and CSS sources directly;
- a built-in browser, allowing users to view the result pages right in
DBACentral.

Another major improvement in the new version is SSH tunneling support. Now users can administrate their web databases, connecting through the secure SSH shell. The SSH tunnel connection is easy to setup and it does not produces any losses in speed. The SSH compression option will allow users to reduce their traffic costs.

DBACentral for MySQL is distributed with a special run-time edition, which is intended for distribution among the end-users of user’s database along with the profiles developed using the standard edition. DBACentral Run-Time Edition provides no design features and can be used only for working with forms, queries, and relationships, previously developed by the database administrator. That allows to deploy complete database management solution within an organization at a very low price.

Other principal features of DBACentral for MySQL are being perfected with each release. These features are:

- establishing multiple database connections;
- creating new databases and importing databases from MS Access or any
ADO-compatible data source;
- creating tables through a comprehensive designer or an easy-to-use
wizard;
- creating stored procedures and functions for MySQL v5.0 and higher;
- creating database views in several modes for MySQL v5.0.1 and
higher;
- creating table relationships for guarding the data integrity
irrespectively of the server version (3.x, 4.x, 5.x), or table types;
- creating custom GUI data forms for viewing and updating table data;
- designing custom stored queries visually and executing complicate
SQL statements;
- creating custom domains for faster design of MySQL tables.
- exporting and importing database structure and table data, using one
of 14 available formats (Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, HTML, PDF,
XML, etc);
- and a whole lot more...
