Five million mails brought down server
A MAN cheesed off when the company he worked for fired him was found guilty of an offence under the Computer Misuse Act. David Lennon sent five million emails to Domestic &General's server and eventually caused it to crash, a Wimbledon youth court heard. The Act carries a maximum penalty of five years but this is the first time anyone has been convicted of breaching it. Lennon didn't get five years. A judge, instead, gave him an ear-wigging, electronically tagged him, and gave him a two month curfew. Related Links:
