Internet communication has increasingly replaced face-to-face contact in a world where having a text conversation with a person on the other side of the planet is a mainstay of doing business or developing a relationship. Since we are wired for the visual components of language to be the key to understanding another's message, it is only natural that we want to enhance our electronic communication with attractive, demonstrative and amusing symbols for what it is we really mean to say.

Icon Constructor gives users a practically unlimited array of options for creating custom Windows icons for use on the desktop, in applications, and now, in instant messaging, e-mail and ICQ shortcuts. The program converts images in BMP, JPEG, GIF, PNG, PSD, TGA and TIFF formats, supporting Windows XP icons in 32-bit color depth with an alpha channel, for easy creation of semi-transparent XP icons from any image. Users can customize the appearance of folders with images found
on the Internet, in the personal photo gallery, or create images with paint programs. Now that Icon Constructor can generate buddy icons for AIM, instant messages will have maximum visual appeal and emphasis of content with the most creative icons.

The icons created with Icon Constructor's FriendlyLINK© technology are more than just nice to look at, they convert photos of friends and family into shortcuts to a default e-mail client pre-addressed to the recipient the icon represents.
