Prague, Czech Republic -- November 30, 2004 -- Barad-Dur, LLC. announces the release of BitKinex 2.4, a versatile network client supporting multiple transfer protocols

BitKinex is a handy FTP(S), SFTP and HTTP(S)/WebDAV client designed to simplify file transfer. With just one click you can minimize the space occupied by the program to one small window showing the status of running requests, and with just a few clicks you can see all the details again. In contrast to other clients BitKinex uses multiple connections not only for file transfers but for browsing remote directories and other activities as well. You don't need to wait when you make a mistake and accidentally click on a wrong folder. BitKinex allows you to click on the right one immediately and instantly starts to retrieve the content of the directory you want to see using another connection. Furthermore, any potentially time-consuming user request, like removing of complex directory structures, renaming of large file sets, editing, or printing of remote files, can be resumed on the program restart, scheduled for later processing, paused, or cancelled at any time.

BitKinex supports direct (FXP) and indirect (protocol independent) server-to-server transfers, mirroring, request scheduling and resumption, properties inheritence, command line interface, file filters, HTTP, FTP and SOCKS proxy servers, basic and digest HTTP authentication, password and public key SSH authentication, remote
edits, etc.

The latest version brings the support for IPv6, Unicode-compatible FTP sites (UTF8), file name conversions, directory comparisons, overwrite rules, server monitoring and much more.
