Since the beginning of this decade, Binary Brilliant, Inc. has been developing a line of Brilliant Database software with a focus on universally-recognizable interfaces that rapidly produce functional results without specialty programming knowledge. Continuing with that tradition, the latest release of Brilliant Database SDK (Software Development Kit) offers a tool for creating end-user executable database applications using simple visual editors to design all the intrinsic features.
A Brilliant database utilizes the combination of the familiar folder and record tree, like that used in Outlook Express™, with relational structure, supporting file attachments, images, set-up of network access levels, formulas and scripts. All aspects of a database are customized through visual editors, controlling the design of forms, reports, queries, toolbars, menus, hot-keys and logos. There are built-in export and import templates, for exporting data to HTML, text, Word™, other databases and so on, and for parsing in text from any source, or importing photos from a scanner. With Brilliant Database SDK, users can compile two types of executable applications: fully-featured database applications such as an inventory management systems, or demonstrational databases that act like a catalogue. These compiled applications require no additional software or libraries and can be freely distributed without additional fees. The latest release of this software from Binary Brilliant includes improvements to scripting, e-mail export and data sorting functions. The Script Designer produces scripts for automating tasks without needing programming skills, and the Sort Templates function creates templates to sort data by several fields at once. The e-mail interface now supports Outlook contact and distribution lists, and can send e-mail directly through an SMTP server. Related Links:
