In the movies, James Bond gets to drive the most artfully designed, powerful and versatile automobiles: cars that transform into boats, jets or submarines at the flick of a switch. Back in reality, Flexigen Software is turning out applications just as multi-faceted, and you don’t have to be a secret agent to use them. This multiple application concept is the beauty of AccelMan. Designed to be a replacement for Windows™ Explorer, there are many, many productive and innovative functions that AccelMan can perform with the contents of one hard drive.

For instance, AccelMan not only operates an outstanding file management system, but integrates a document editor, multimedia player with tools for playlist management, supporting 30 multimedia files including mp3 and wav formats, a graphics viewer with editing tools for JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, among about 30 others, a zip and unzip utility, and a TrueType fonts manager, which is missing from other popular managers.

As a file manager, AccelMan offers the usual functions (copy, move, delete, etc.) but employs a sophisticated search feature with customizable filters, file splitting and combining, bookmarking for files and folders, history lists, highlighting of files according to type, and other functions designed for in-depth and flexible file management. The interface is logical and attractive, and puts a
tremendous amount of information into a single screenshot, without having to sift through multiple windows.

Flexigen is clearly listening to the comments and requests of its client base, and the new release reflects improvements made in response to those needs. They have designed a console as a wrap over the Windows™ command processor to act as an independent AccelMan environment, providing clipboard support and options for managing output. The bookmark function has been enhanced by a shortcut option that will perform an assigned task to a bookmarked file (open,
explore, etc.). The list of improvements is nearly as long as the list of available functions within the program.
