Blue Frog Lives! (Blue Frog Lives!)  Blue Frog Lives!

Internet & Networks
We've got the message from Eran Reshef

Dear Friends,

A desperate spammer tried to destroy our community last week: he failed.
The attack he unleashed knocked BlueSecurity.com and many thousands of other
sites off the Internet.

The reason for his attack? Blue Security has been extraordinarily effective
in stopping spam being sent to our community, now over a half million and
growing. Spammers who are responsible for 25% of the world spam are
compliant or in the process of compliance, and this renegade spammer saw us
as a threat to his illegal activities.

Rather than simply comply with our community's desire to not receive spam
from him, he unleashed the Internet equivalent of a Doomsday Device, causing
BlueSecurity.com to be disconnected from the Internet backbone and then
unleashing a massive Denial of Service attack, the likes of which have not
been seen for a long time.

A lot of other innocent website got caught in the spammer's line of fine
besides us. To our friends over at Blogs.com and the Livejournal community,
we're sorry that the digital bullets meant for us hit you, too.

The spammer's Doomsday Device failed. We're still here. We took some hits
in this battle against spam, but we're winning the war. By automating the
CAN-SPAM act US Citizens finally can truly exercise their opt-out right to
an on-line life without unwanted junk mail.

Thank you for your continued support
