WinCatalog
WinCatalog Standard is a simple and straightforward disk cataloging software. It catalogs any audio or data disks that Windows can access, which means that little or no information needs to be entered manually. This application automatically extracts descriptions from zip, mp3, html and plain text files. The program can also be used to catalog "non-file" items, like books, stamps, jewelry, or antique furniture.

WinCatalog Standard offers a number of features that the competing tools fail to deliver, like the contacts list that shows which CDs are currently being loaned and who has them. WinCatalog Standard also offers a very flexible cataloging system that can display the contents of a disk, specific folder or a file. It means that a user does not need to look through every CD on a shelf to find the one that contains necessary file or song.

WinCatalog Standard is especially helpful in managing music collections, whether on audio CDs, mp3 files or a combination of both. The program can automatically extract audio CD track data from CDDB, a free online database that contains information about CD tracks, like song titles, name of a performer, year of release and so on.

Importantly, WinCatalog Standard allows users to assign keywords and add descriptions to each of the cataloged item. All this makes searching through the database a fast and easy process. Plus, different collection items can be dragged and dropped from folder to folder. All data can be printed out as a report or exported to HTML or MS Excel files for further processing.
